The Fédération française d’études et de sports sous-marins (FFESSM) is a French sports federation specializing in recreational and competitive underwater activities such as scuba diving and freediving, as well as white-water swimming, finning and underground diving.
The FFESSM has over 2,500 clubs, 6,000 instructors and 140,000 members. It has been delegated by the French Ministry of Sports to organize and develop diving and associated disciplines, as part of its public service mission.
